THE KNIGHT
A knight there was, and he a worthy man,
Who, from the moment that he first began
To ride about the world, loved chivalry,
Truth, honour, freedom and all courtesy.
Full worthy was he in his liege-lord's war,
And therein had he ridden (none more far)
As well in Christendom as heathenesse,
And honoured everywhere for worthiness.
At Alexandria, he, when it was won;
Full oft the table's roster he'd begun
Above all nations' knights in Prussia.
In Latvia raided he, and Russia,
No christened man so oft of his degree.
In far Granada at the siege was he
Of Algeciras, and in Belmarie.
At Ayas was he and at Satalye
When they were won; and on the Middle Sea
At many a noble meeting chanced to be.
Of mortal battles he had fought fifteen,
And he'd fought for our faith at Tramissene
Three times in lists, and each time slain his foe.
This self-same worthy knight had been also
At one time with the lord of Palatye
Against another heathen in Turkey:
And always won he sovereign fame for prize.
Though so illustrious, he was very wise
And bore himself as meekly as a maid.
He never yet had any vileness said,
In all his life, to whatsoever wight.
He was a truly perfect, gentle knight.
But now, to tell you all of his array,
His steeds were good, but yet he was not gay.
Of simple fustian wore he a jupon
Sadly discoloured by his habergeon;
For he had lately come from his voyage
And now was going on this pilgrimage.

Why I'm happy??
Finish the story:
My sister woke me up early this morning. She ran into my room before the alarm clock went off.
“Look outside!” she yelled.
I got out of bed and looked out the window. All that I could see was white snow! There was a man
shoveling the sidewalk in front of our house.
Mom came into the room. She brought us each a mug of hot chocolate.
“No school today!” she said. I was very happy. My sister was happy, too.
Mom left the room to find our snow clothes. She gave me my blue snowsuit. She also gave me a
hat and mittens.
“What are you going to do today with no school?” she asked.
.....
"Well", I smiled, "first of all I want to phone my best friend Soffy and hear her shouting: "it's snowing""
My mother smirked at me.
"Then I want to go with her up the little hill behind our house and then sledge down and have a lot of fun!"
"but", my sister cried "can I come with you?". "Yes", I replied. She smiled at me and looked at me with her dog-glace, which I love so much about her.
I went out of my bed, got dressed and phoned Soffy.
About three hours we spent sledging down the small, white hill behind my house.
Afterwards we went to the German market in the city centre. We bought some roasted almonds, listened to the singers and went then cheerfully home! What a wonderful morning!

Writing exercise the first
What is your favorite color? Why?
My favourite colour is green, the green of fresh grass, the forest, the wildness.
I love the smell of fresh cut grass, pistachios, salad, green apples and green, solid pears and green eyes.
I also like the greenish colour of wild mountain streams that are flowing down the mountains!

Hello World!
Today I'm happy because the idea of frequenting a school year abroad becomes more concrete!
I've read now on the website that in March there is going to be the competion of who can go there!
Isn't that simply awsome??
What would you suggest? To go to Ireland or to the UK??
I love both so I don't care very much about it... ;)
The most important thing is to GO!!
well, but till then it is far, so I have enough time to improve my English writing skills with this blog,
or at least I hope so. I think I'm going to ask my teacher tomorrow what I can do to improve my skills, or if maybe she can give me some tips (websites and or books). I'm sooooo excited!!
I hope so much that I get a place, because I think my English isn't that bad, even if....well I make a lot of mistakes...
but anyway fingers cross!!
Love you all!

Since some moths I discovered this fantastic series of Penguin with all those beautiful covers!
Well, this year I made a great trip with my father through Europe and I started to collect those books, not this original books with that cover but the books, nominated on this list.
